I was on the phone with a client, schedule C making about $100,000. I went through the drills — S corporation, do payroll, so on and so forth. I gave him the answer. What else did I give him? I gave him free advice and saved him about $5,000 to $10,000 a year. And what did I get paid for it? Zero. That was a big aha moment for me.

It is very satisfying to see where my firm is today as compared to just a couple years ago. Not only have we grown revenue and increased profit margins, but we’ve also elevated the relationships we have with clients and improved how they see the value our firm delivers.
